Membership

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES & REQUIREMENTS

Membership is open to all Computer Science and Information Technology Professionals, Practitioners and anyone with professional interest in any of the Computing discipline.

1) Professional Fellow

The Grade of Fellow is the highest membership grade in the association and it is granted to any interested Member who can prove his/her professional activities, justify his/her acceptance as an authority in his/her particular field of computing; has made significant contribution to the growth of the association; and in addition fulfilled the stated requirements.

Requirements:

• Has professional activities and achievements justified and accepted as an authority in the profession.
• Be considered by the association to be fit and proper person to be so recognized.
• Be at least thirty years of age.
• Has fifteen years relevant professional working experience, at least five of which must have been in position of senior management responsibility.
• Has his/her application sponsored by two Fellows in writing.
• Applicant for Fellowship grade must have been a Member for at least 10 (ten) years, of which at least 2 (two) years out of 3(three) years (preceding the date of application), of regular attendance/participation in the activities of the Association can be verified. He/she must be financially up-to-date.
• Must pay special admission fee to be determined by the Council.

2) Member

Prospective applicant to be admitted as Member must satisfy at least one of the following criteria:

Requirements:

• B.Sc/B.Eng/B.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology or related courses (from approved institutions) with at least five years of proven post graduation professional experience in Computing/IT
• M.Sc./M.Tech in Computer Science/Information Technology or related courses with at least three years of proven post graduation experience in Computing/Information Technology
• B.Sc/B.Tech/B.Eng/HND in non-related courses in addition to Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Computer Science/Information Technology with not less than three years post PGD professional experience.

3) Associate Member

Prospective applicants to be admitted at this level must possess at least one of the following requirements:

Requirements:

• HND in Computer Science/Information Technology or related courses but less than five years of proven post graduation professional experience.
• HND in non-related courses in addition to Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Computer Science/Information Technology with not less than two years of proven post PGD professional experience.
• B.Sc/B.Tech/B.Eng/HND in non-related courses in addition to Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Computer Science/Information Technology with not less than three years post PGD professional experience.

4) Graduate Member

Prospective applicants to be admitted at this level must possess the following requirements:

Requirements:

• B.Sc/B.Tech/B.Eng graduates in Computer Science/Information Technology or related courses
• HND graduates in Computer Science/Information Technology or related courses
• B.Sc/B.Tech/B.Eng/HND in non-related courses in addition to Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Computer Science/Information Technology with not less than three years post PGD professional experience.

5) Student Member

Students currently undergoing a course of study in computer science/ Computer Engineering/Information Technology or related course in a University or Polytechnic or other Institutions of Higher learning recognized by the Association.

6) Corporate Member

Granted to Corporate Organisation/Company and must be registered by Corporate Affairs Commission.

Requirements:

Purchase form at the cost of N10,000.00 and submit alongside the form with the following:

• Certificate of incorporation
• Company profile
• Photocopy of receipt of payment
• Form should be fully endorsed by two financial current AAIMLON full members
• Article of memorandum

Registration Procedure

Membership registration procedure is as follows:

• Applicant purchases the registration application form.
• The duly completed application form (together with ALL relevant supporting documents) is submitted to the Secretariat.
• On receipt of the application form, the Secretariat dispatches an acknowledgement letter to the applicant.
• Appropriate processing of the form then commences.
• Successful applicants shall be informed in writing and invited for induction
• Every registered member (individual or corporate) is required thereafter to pay annually, a license fee (to renew the practitioners license) to enable computing professional practice by such a member (individual or corporate).
